What is a disciple? Bill Clem in his book Disciple: Getting Your Identity from Jesus, essentially defines a disciple as one who has their identity in Christ, which is reflected in ever-expanding worship, community, and mission.
When you hear us say at EastPoint “We make much of Jesus Christ by knowing Him and Making Him known,” we are precisely thinking along the lines of Clem’s definition, and how the two wings of our church (corporate service and community groups) help accomplish this vision.
The church gathered (Sunday service), and the church scattered (community). Both are essential to being a healthy, growing disciple of Jesus. If you’d like to talk about how we pursue discipleship at EastPoint, check out the pages on community and fight clubs, send us a message to info@epcmwc.org, or talk to us on Sunday!
